Where artistic vision meets sonic precision

G Wave Records is the studio practice of Joseph “Gelvs” Agualada — an audio engineer working in editing, mixing and mastering since 2016.

The work is technical, but the goal isn't. A mix is finished when the emotion in the performance survives the trip to the listener: the vocal sits where it should, the low end behaves in a car and on a laptop, and nothing sounds like it was fixed. That's what translation means, and it's the standard every project here is held to.

Every engagement is remote and client-centred. You send files, you hear a preview before you commit, and you get honest feedback on what the material needs — including when it needs less, not more.

Transparent rates, no surprises

Every service starts with a free 30-second before/after preview. You hear the difference on your own track before any money changes hands.

These are fixed, published rates. USD is the base rate and the peso figures are a fixed conversion of it; the peso amount in your written quote is locked for 7 days.
2–3 songs are priced as singles. 7–9 songs are quoted as a project. You will never pay more than the equivalent EP plus single rates.

Not sure what your song needs?

  • The recording still has noise, timing or comping problems → start with Audio Editing.
  • The parts are recorded but don't sound like one record yet → you need Mixing.
  • The mix works and needs final clarity, level and translation → you need Mastering.
  • The mix is close but drums or vocals need group control → Stem Mastering may fit.

How engagements work

  • Free preview first. Nothing is owed until you've heard your own track improved.
  • Deposit before work begins. Your slot is confirmed once the deposit lands.
  • Final files are released on full payment. You'll hear drafts throughout, so nothing is a surprise.
  • Revisions are included as listed per service. Structural changes — new stems, arrangement edits, added production — are quoted separately.
  • Rush delivery is available depending on the schedule and carries an additional fee. Say your deadline up front.
  • Large projects can be batched. EPs and albums run in agreed batches with payment per batch.

A small number of independent artist projects are taken on each month at a reduced project rate, agreed individually. The number is small for a concrete reason: every mix and master here is done by one engineer, start to finish, and a multi-song project takes weeks of that schedule — so only a few can run at a time.

For independent artists based in the Philippines, with original or properly authorised material that is ready for the service requested.

The programme is for projects of two songs or more — a pair of singles, an EP or an album. A single track is quoted at the standard rate.

In return: credit for the work actually done, permission to publish one approved 30-second before/after after your release, and honest feedback afterwards. A positive testimonial is never a condition.

Applications are reviewed in the order complete submissions arrive; meeting the criteria does not guarantee a slot. Message me with your song, your release date and the service you need.

Questions, answered plainly

How much does G Wave Records charge?
Stereo mastering is ₱3,150 ($50) a song, stem mastering ₱6,250 ($100), and mixing ₱7,500 ($120) a song. EP, album, audio-editing and podcast rates are listed under Transparent rates. Every project starts with a free 30-second before/after on your own track, and a deposit starts the work.
Do you offer a free sample?
Yes. Tell me which service you're considering — mastering, mixing, mix + master, or editing — and send the matching files. If the project suits a preview, you'll get back up to 30 seconds of your own track showing that exact work: a mastering preview starts from your stereo mix, a mixing preview from your multitracks. I'll confirm what's needed before starting. No cost and no obligation if you decide not to continue.
What if I don't like it?
Two separate stages, so it is worth being exact about which is which. First, the free 30-second before/after. That is a sample on your own track, offered before any money changes hands — it is not a revision round and it does not use one up. If it isn't right for you, we stop there, you pay nothing and you owe nothing. Then, the paid project. Revision rounds belong to this stage: once the deposit is in and the full song is underway, you get up to 2 rounds per song, and 3 per song on albums. A round is one consolidated list of changes after you have heard a version.
What's the difference between mixing and mastering?
Mixing balances and shapes the individual elements inside a song — vocals, instruments, effects — into one coherent piece. Mastering is the final stage applied to the finished stereo mix: loudness, tonal balance and consistency so it holds up next to commercial releases on every platform.
How do I get started?
Send a project brief through the form below. I'll review the material and come back with scope, pricing and a delivery date — normally within one working day (Mon–Sat).

Revisions cover tonal balance, levels and dynamics. New stems, arrangement edits or added production are quoted separately.
How does a revision round work?
One revision round is one consolidated list of changes sent after you receive a version. Changes to arrangement, new recordings, newly supplied files or previously approved work are quoted as new scope.
What files should I send?
  • Mixing: individual stems in WAV or AIFF, 24-bit preferred, all starting at the same timecode, with headroom and no clipping.
  • Mastering: a stereo WAV or AIFF with at least −6 dB headroom and no limiting on the master bus.
What will I receive?
Your masters in the format your release needs, not a format I prefer. Lossless as WAV, AIFF, FLAC or ALAC; 16-, 24- or 32-bit; 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz or higher — plus an MP3 for streaming and reference. If your distributor, label, sync brief or video platform specifies a delivery standard, send me the spec and you get exactly that. If you are not sure what to ask for, say where the release is going and I will tell you what it needs.
How long does it take?
Stereo mastering is typically 1–2 business days. A single mix runs 3–5 business days. Turnaround begins once complete usable files, confirmed scope and the deposit are received. EP and album schedules are confirmed at booking. Rush work, when available, is quoted separately.
What is your payment policy?
A deposit is required before work begins, and final files are released on full payment. You'll hear previews and drafts throughout, so you always know what you're paying for. Larger EP and album projects can be split into batches with payment per batch.
Do you work with international clients? Do I need to be in Naga City?
Yes — and no, you do not need to be in Naga City. G Wave Records works with artists anywhere in the world. Everything is remote: share a Google Drive folder for your project with gelvs@gwaverecords.site, or send a WeTransfer to the same address — Dropbox links are fine too. Final files come back digitally, in the lossless format and resolution your release needs, plus a streaming-ready MP3. Quotes are in USD; Philippine clients can be billed in pesos, and the peso amount on a written quote is held for 7 days from the date it is sent.
